The Webcasts featured a thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair by Dr. Hazim Safi and a transverse lumbar spinal fusion by Dr. Vivek Kushwaha.   • Memorial Hermann was ranked highest among healthcare organizations as one of Houston’s Best Places to Work — Houston Business Journal 2004.
  • The Memorial Hermann Counseling and Worklife Center recently opened adjacent to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. The Center provides individual, marital and family counseling, assessment and testing and a unique play therapy center for children staffed by registered play therapists.
  • Ali Azizzadeh, MD, joined Memorial Hermann Hospital as medical director of the Vascular Laboratory. In surgical suites outfitted with endovascular equipment, Dr. Azizzadeh performs both minimally invasive and open surgeries to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms, thoracic outlet syndrome and other conditions.
  • Eyal Porat, MD, performed Houston’s first minimally invasive surgery to correct potentially life-threatening atrial fibrillation (irregular heart beat) at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Dr. Porat is director of minimally invasive and robotic surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.
